During my time working at Scotiabank, I was lead on a team to maintain the bank’s intranet website, as well as a collection of externally facing websites under the Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets business line.
When I first came on board, we worked on a rebrand of the new business line (originally called “Scotia Capitol” to become “Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets”. This rebrand was an extensive project, which includes the main website, as well as several business lines such as Scotia Mocatta, Scotia FX, Investor Solutions, Scotiabank Brazil, and others.
This initial rebrand was a large project, as die to security reasons, these external sites did not have any connected databases or content management system in place, were strictly static HTML sites, designed with the Adobe Dreamweaver template system. The only “data” pulled via API to these sites were some stock market and precious metals information.
Later in 2015 I oversaw a project to update all the businesses websites to match a new design and branding aesthetic that was on the new main Scotiabank Website. The new design was utilized using Bootstrap and jQuery. The source material was provided to me by the main Scotiabank Website Team, and I then modified the design as needed to work with our html-based websites for Global Banking and Markets and its sister websites.
At this time, I also suggested that the bank start addressing AODA/Accessibility standards and I then reviewed and implemented changes into the design to better meet AODA requirements for the sites.
